NEW PREFECTS.....

Congratulations to Tom Medlicott and Hang Kin Kwok on their appointment as new Mertens House Prefects. Both boys have shown truly outstanding care and leadership in Mertens this year so far and will make a great addition to the Prefect team. They'll be awarded their prefects' ties next Friday by the Headmaster.

A handful of brave Mertens boys ventured over to Standgrove woods for various activities last Friday night for CCF. Personally, I thought it was freezing but the boys managed to get some sleep; allegedly!! Let's just say there were a few bleary eyes the next morning....

HOUSE MUSIC - MERTENS COME 3RD !!!

Congratulations to Hang Kin, James, Timmy, Sergej, Laurence, Marcus, Paul, Jonny, Anthony, and especially Tom for their very special performances in the Inter House Music competition. The ensemble included a dynamic piano duet by Hang Kin and Anthony; an innovative cello piece by James; two expert piano solos by Anthony and Hang Kin and then capped off wonderfully with a loud, passionate performance by the band of Timmy, Tom, Jonny, Sergej, Paul and Hang Kin.

Well done boys!! 3rd place richly deserved...



SKYFALL

32 Mertens boys went off to Crawley Cineworld to watch the new Bond film last Sunday...another busy weekend!!

Mertens, Hilton and Aberdeen Houses clubbed together on Saturday night for yet another successful social - in the interests of variety the Pub Quiz was put on hold and instead we decided to embrace the great outdoors, laughing in the face of the inclement weather with a celebratory 4Bs night!! Bonfires, Bacon, Bananas and of course a BBQ (why not!!).

Congratulations to Marcus Monsell and Ross Vasani on their appointments as Mertens Head of House and House Prefect respectively. Marcus has led with energy and innovation and has worked superbly well with fellow Mertens Prefects; Dan Frank and Laurence Haines while Ross demonstrated very early that he was more than able by throwing himself into every House event with enthusiasm and passion.
