After a long and insufferable winter of trophyless discontent, Mertens Senior cricketers did what their footballing counterparts could not and stormed to the title of Champion Cricket House on the back of 2 dominating performances. An unexpected victory over bookies favourites Rhodes gave Deme and Summerfield the chance to humiliate Crosse on the Green with a powerful batting masterclass of aggression and control. Captain Vasani bamboozled with his leg tweak, Jonny Tweedie chased everything down in the field whilst Holman and Mangan saved the best to last with devastating spells of bowling to bewitch the already bamboozled Crosse batsmen.
