The Shell boys are off to the Ardingly Reservoir at 9am for 2.5 hours of sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, paddle boarding and team building activities....then its lunch and back down to Nine Acre for football training until 2.45pm.
The footballers in Remove, Fifth and Lower Sixth have home matches against Harrodian (London) down at Nine Acre in the morning with a kick-off slightly earlier than normal at 10am.
For those not involved in either football or on the reservoir there are the usual Saturday Activities to choose from including....Sailing, Badminton, Fencing, Fitness, Tennis, Jazz Dancing and Swimming.
Saturday nights are never dull and the first is no exception: the BBQ will be unveiled and those newcomers to Mertens will soon get used to the sight of me slaving away over a hot plate doing what I do best!
The Nick Tester fire pit will also make an appearance and is always a great focal point for any social event.
While Sunday is usually a little slower due to there being no sporting fixtures there are always opportunities to have a nice sleep-in, a big breakfast, go to the gym, use the swimming pool, collapse onto a sofa in the common room and fall asleep! This Sunday will witness the beginning of the year long rivalry with our great mates from across the car park, Hilton, in the form of a game of footy down at Nine Acre followed by....(you guessed it).....food!
Have a great weekend!
